Virat Kohli gesture for Steve Smith is winning everyone’s hearts: Know details

India won their 2nd Match in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against Australia. It was a very comfortable win in which India was able to bowl out Australia at just 316 having already given them a target of 353. During the match, while India was batting, Virat Kohli saw some fans in the crowd booing Steve Smith standing close to the boundary.

Virat Kohli immediately took action upon it by raising his hands to get the acknowledgment of his fans. He then went on to signal them to praise Steve Smith instead of booing him. Post that event, Steve Smith came over and smiled at Virat while offering a handshake. Virat happily obliged to the handshake. Through this incident, Virat has portrayed a phenomenal sportsman spirit which forms an example for other cricketers to follow.

In the post-match conference, Virat Kohli went on to tell the reason as to why he did what he did. He said that what has happened should remain in the past. He tells that Steve Smith is back and playing wonderful cricket for Australia and should be praised for his efforts, instead of the boos he was receiving from the audience.

As per Virat Kohli, if he were in Smith’s place and if the fans were booing him, he too would be feeling bad and have his emotions hurt. Thus, resulting in his actions. After his signal, the Indian fans stopped booing Smith and started cheering for him.

Recently, when Indian Cricket Team got down from a bus, a fan asked Dhoni for his autograph which Dhoni refused to give(no hate) while Virat happily obliged to give her one. This certainly shows us how kind and good-hearted is the captain of our Indian team.
