Vivek Oberoi, last month, had created a havoc on social media by sharing a meme on Twitter that involved his alleged ex-girlfriend and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Vivek Oberoi’s viral meme also featured Aishwarya’s husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan, their daughter Aaradhya, and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The meme was labelled as offensive and demeaning towards Aishwarya and women at large by a section of social media. Now in a recent interview Salman was asked what he thought of the meme and his response was surprising,he said, ‘he didn’t know about it’.Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Bharat’ is slated to hit the screens on June 5. In an interview, Salman was recently asked about Vivek Oberoi’s viral meme, the Vivek’s foot-in-the-mouth meme that didn’t go down too well with many on social media, including several B-Town celebs.
“I don’t know about it. I haven’t seen it,” said Salman.
Vivek Oberoi, through his viral meme had taken a sly dig, stating that once Aishwarya dated Salman Khan (referring to it as opinion poll), but later moved on to him (exit poll). And she ended up marrying Abhishek Bachchan (the end result).
Though the concerned celebs chose not to react on the meme when it went viral on the internet, many of their industry colleagues like Sonam Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar, Urmila Matondkar and Ashoke Pandit came out in their support.
Sonam had called Vivek’s meme “Disgusting and classless”.
Urmila tweeted, “Very disgraceful and in extreme bad taste of #VivekOberoi to put up such a disrespectful post.
Later, the meme was taken down by Vivek, after he was sent a legal notice by National Commission for Women (NCW) and received harsh criticism on the internet.
On the work front, Salman Khan is waiting for the release of his upcoming film Bharat. On the other hand Vivek Oberoi was recently seen in PM Narendra Modi biopic, which released in May.
