A 21 year old Mumbai Youth bags 1.2 crore package at Google and that too in its London Office. The Youth’s name is Abdullah Khan and he is an engineering student in Mumbai. The best thing about him is that he is not an IITian. This thing somewhat proves that university doesn’t matter. What matters is the talent you possess.
Coming onto Abdullah Khan, his total package comes out to be Rs 1.2 crores. The six figure package deal comprises the base salary of Rs 54.5 lakh per annum, 15 percent bonus and stock options worth Rs 58.9 lakhs over four years.
About Abdullah
Abdullah is a coding enthusiast and was called in for an interview by Google after the company saw his profile on a programming website that hosts various competitive programming challenges. He is currently a student of Shree LR Tiwari Engineering College, Mira Road, Maharashtra. He wil be joining the Google’s site reliability engineering team in September.
In an interview with TOI Khan told TOI,” I used to participate as it was fun. I did not even know that firms check programmers’ profiles on such sites. I showed the email to my friend who knew someone who had received such an email in the past. I am looking forward to joining their team. It will be an amazing learning experience for me,” said Khan.
Khan is not a typical Indian. He completed his school from Saudi Arabia and moved to Mumbai to apply to IIT but couldn’t crack the test. Still he was able to get a Job even qualified people don’t get. Abdullah has proved that if you have talent for something then it does not matter what college you belong to. Hardwork is ultimately the big key to success.
This has not been the first time that Google has offered big bucks for Indian talent. In 2018, Google offered 1.2 crore package to Sneha Reddy, a student of Indian Institute of Technology at Hyderabad.
