One of the most remembered events in the history of Mahabharat was Draupadi’s Cheer Haran. This was the time where ‘Pandavas’ lost everything to ‘Kauravas’ in the game of dice even their wife Draupadi was put on bet. The humiliation that Draupadi faced in the kingdom was one of the main reasons that compel Pandavas to avenge Kauravas.
Cheer Haran means stripping clothes from body and unquestionably this was the most shameful thing which Draupadi (wife of Pandavas) was subjected to. Later, she was saved by Lord Krishna.
How Did Kunti Know About Draupadi’s Cheer Haran Even Before Pandavas and Kauravas Birth?
The time when Kunti and Madri were newly married to the king Pandu, Madri used to be interested in the game of dice or chausar. One day, she asked Kunti to compete against king Pandu in this gameplay. Kunti was expert in the game as she used to actively participate in this fun game when she was not married and resided with her father. But when she was encouraged by Madri, she said that this game does not attract her anymore.
She even went on to say that she has a negative feelings towards chausar or the game of dice. Kunti also added that she feels that something wrong is associated with this gameplay and this could bring bad luck and ominous vibes to Hastinapur. All of her prophesies and feelings against chausar undoubtedly hinted to the event of Draupadi’s Cheer Haran.
The times were different but even then coming events cast their shadows and so happenned before Draupadi’s Cheer Haran. Draupadi was saved by Lord Krishna and later Pandavas avenged Kauravas for their shameful deed. Some people even consider this one of the biggest reasons for the battle of Kurukshetra that happened between Pandavas and Kauravas.
