Karni Sena has asked lyricist Javed Akhtar to apologize for his ‘ghoonghat’ ban remark. Looks like the comments made by Javed Akhtar did not go well with Karni Sena. A few days ago, Javed Akhtar tweeted that the government should ban ‘ghoonghat’ as well along with the ban of ‘Burqa’ to empower women.
Karni Sena Is Back In Action: Targets Javed Akhtar This Time
The infamous organization which was also very active during the release of Bollywood movie ‘Padmavat’ threatened the lyricist and said that they will gouge his eyes out. Jivan Singh Solanki, Karni Sena Maharashtra wing president said that Akhtar has to face consequences if he will not apologize. He also said that if the lyricist would not tender an apology, Karni Sena will enter his house and beat him.
Not only Karni Sena, but many different organizations from India severely criticized his statement. Even after Javed clarified his comment, people are just not ready to forgive him. This is not the first time that Kari Sena has targeted and threatened a prominent personality of the country. It also threatened Deepika Padukone when her film ‘Padmavat’ was about to release as we mentioned earlier. Kangana Ranaut’s film Manikarnika also faced great obstructions because of this infamous fringe outfit.
There are no reports of Javed Akhtar apologizing for the comment he made. In his Tweet, he mentioned the name ‘Rajasthan’. This is because the ‘ghoonghat’ system is still prevalent even today in Rajasthan. Maybe this is the reason that Javed’s statement irked the members of Karni Sena. But even after that, the image and actions of this Sena have never been good. They have caused great damages to Sanjay Leela Bhansali by burning the costumes and destroying his sets during the shoots of Padmavat. They also sent death threats to the director.
