Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 Review: The end of King’s Landing

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 aired this morning and it is undoubtedly one of the most action-packed episodes in Game of Thrones history. While many fans are still disappointed with how the series is progressing, I think the series is still good. In this article, we will tell you the full review of the new episode in Game of Thrones.

In the beginning, we see Tyrion telling Danaerys about Varys’ deception and Varys who is completely ready for his fate drops his rings and is sentenced to death by Dany. He is burnt alive and the honor is done by Dany’s last Dragon Drogon. Things move at a brisk pace and we see Dany going on to fight the Iron fleet with the help of her last remaining Dragon. It was at that time when we came to know that there is no other Dragon and well, there was none required. Drogon with Dany on his back was able to single-handedly burn the whole of Iron Fleet with only Euron Greyjoy surviving the aftermath.

The battle between Cersei’s Army and Dany’s Army is a one-sided war. With the Iron Fleet now finished and dead, it was the turn of Cersei’s Army who gave up when they saw the damage Drogon has initially given. But Dany in her rage decided that she will burn the place with all the innocents and the non-innocents to the ground and that is what she did.

She became the Mad Queen which was predicted for many seasons now and it certainly came true. It really hurts us to see Dany become the villain of the show when once she was the breaker of Chains, who saved the slaves and proud owner of the Dothrakis. Things might have been different if she hadn’t met Jon Snow. She could have easily captured the Iron Throne without thousands of innocents dying.

Also, in this episode, we witnessed the climax between the Mountain and the Hound. They fought to their last breaths. Ultimately both became dead when Hound took hold of Mountain and jumped into the live fire.

As per many people, this Game of Thrones Episode was a complete failure with lack of Character development and rushed storylines. We can certainly agree to rushed storylines but we can’t disagree with the fact that while we were watching the episode, we could not move our eyes away from the screen. The episode was interesting, to say the least. Why people are criticizing Game of Thrones Season 8, we would like to give a thumbs up to the creators to give such an episode. The Game of Thrones Episode 5 tells us that the White Walkers were not the actual threat. The actual threat was none other than the humans and this episode succeeds in telling that.

To say that the episode portrayed unexpected events, is the least we can say.

Also, a few days back Change.org have brought out a petition you can sign for an appeal to recreate the Season 8 of Game of Thrones with more competitive writers. We are now talking of D&D who brought to us 7 successful and entertaining seasons of such a series. It can only be said that people are the least thankful and only pretend to care.
