My narrative today will have a brief about the blame-game that is put on Bollywood for everything that’s going wrong. All moves of society that are veering away from the right direction are being labeled as celeb culture driven! Priyanka Chopra beautifully explains why this should not be the case!
Bollywood Is Not Responsible For Illegal Activities That Are Blooming!
In one of her interviews with ‘Quint Fit‘, Priyanka Chopra quoted ” Bollywood or Hindi Films are entertainment. You cannot put the onus of everything that happens in the country on celebrities.” This is arguably one of the strongest and most sensible statements in support of the entertainment industry made by an entertainer itself. Another point she made was: ‘films are a reflection of society and society is the reflection of films’. Rare observation but definitely needed, witty and correct one.
Deepika’s Summoning!
Instagram and Twitter are flooded with memes after the recent summoning notice for Deepika Padukone and this has camouflaged and diverted the gravity of the situation. Before being a celebrity, the actress is human like us and she has had ‘some not so good habits’ that we also have or had (or at least are familiar with). The reason for which she is summoned is something that we are well aware of. We cannot just deny that most of us are part of it willingly and happily.
Here, Bollywood is not responsible for everything is a case in point. What all is happening and being highlighted in the media is not bolstered or promoted by celebrities. It is something that people have been doing in their personal lives without getting influenced by Bollywood bigwigs. On the other hand, films have always changed mindsets and have made people aware of the repercussions that illegal activities have. The classic example is the flick ‘Sanju’.
Summery
This narrative wants to make a point that we cannot put a blanket judgment on celebrities for spoiling society. Films stay in heart of the Indian audience and they have contributed a lot to uplift society.
