India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI was the first one in which New Zealand seemed to be giving India some sort of challenge. Although it was not enough as the visiting team won the 3rd ODI and have scored a hatrick in the ODI series. It was a really easy run chase and we can say that the home team is totally unable to give the visiting team any sort of difficulty in winning. The Indian team didn’t have its biggest mentor Dhoni due to a hamstring injury in this match. Instead, Hardik Pandya made a return to the team after his controversy which banned him from playing against Australia.

The Kiwis batted first and the openers failed to give a good start. Guptill went out at 13 while Munro scored 7. Kane Williamson seems to be suffering from a bad form as he too scored just 28 runs. It was with the help from Ross Taylor and Latham that New Zealand reached a respective total of 243. Ross Taylor scored 93 runs while Latham scored 51 runs. All other players got out really quick because of which New Zealand was unable to complete their 50 overs yet again. From the Indian side, the pacers took 7 out of 10 wickets out of which Shami took 3, Pandya took 2 and Bhuvneshwar took 2.

Chahal got 2 wickets and Kuldeep went wicketless. The Indian batsmen gave a good start. Dhawan scored 28 runs while Sharma scored 62 runs. Kohli scored his 49th international half century and scored a total of 60 runs. Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Kartik finished the match with ease. Rayudu scored 40 while Kartik scored 38. Once again Kartik proves himself when given a chance. Such an experienced cricketer can be really useful in the World Cup.
