The India Vs New Zealand 2nd ODI was another one which was easily won by India. For starters, this time it was India who batted first and both the openers looked to be in cracking form. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave gave their 14th 100+ partnership and gave India a start they needed.

Shikhar Dhawan got out at 66 while Sharma went on to make 87 runs just missing hos century. An interesting fact is that since 2017 Sharma has had a conversion rate from 50 to 100 runs of 60%. It is greater than Virat Kohli’s 57%. Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu tried hard but were unable to play good shots and the inning seemed to slow a bit. Virat scored 43 off 45 while Rayudu scored 47 off 49. It was then that Dhoni and Jadhav came onto the crease. Dhoni went on to hit 48 runs taking only 33 deliveries hitting 5 fours and 1 six while Jadhav hit 22 runs in 10 deliveries with 3 fours and a six.
India went on to score 324-4 wickets. Only Trent boult and Lockie Fergusen took 2 wickets each. None of the other bowlers were successful in breaking the Indian batters.
New Zealand failed to get a good start like India did. Martin Guptil got out at 15 runs while Colin Munro got out at 31. Even Kane Williamson got out at 20 runs while trying to hit a biggie but was bowled our by Shami. Tom Lathan scored 34 while Nichols scores 28. It was just Doug Bracewell who was able to hit 57 runs. New Zealand were bowled out at 234 runs falling 90 runs below their target. It was as comfortable a victory like that in the 1st ODI. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets, Chahal took 2, Jadhav took 1, Shami too 1 and Bhuvneshwar got 2 wickets.
