Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi K20 and K20 pro. The high price of K20 smartphone led to a lot of controversies. Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India CEO, wrote a letter to all the fans mentioning why the price was high. In one of his recent videos, a tech-tuber Techno Ruhez mentioned that Pocofone F2 has been canceled in India. In this article, we will tell you why.
As per Ruhez, Xiaomi wants people to purchase its new series of smartphones namely K20 Series. They thought that if people wait for Pocofone F2, the sales of K20 and K20 pro will be affected. Thus, they made a decision to cancel the launch of Pocofone F2 as of now. Thus, the device will not be making an appearance this year.
Manu Kumar Jain refused to comment upon this decision. Last year, in August Xiaomi, came up with the Pocofone F1 which has the Snapdragon 845 processor at a price of Rs 22,999 Currently, the price of Pocofone F1 has gone down to as low as Rs 17,999 along with bank offers which provide 10% off on debit and credit cards.
At the beginning of 2019, Manu Jain posted a tweet telling his fans that a new Pocofone was coming. Since then fans and YouTubers have been speculating dates about the release of the phone but to no avail. Also, with VP Hugo Barra quitting Xiaomi, it seems that they will look forward to releasing Pocofone F2 next year probably. Although, nothing can be confirmed.
The Pocofone F2 was the only device which had the fans waiting for a budget device with Snapdragon 855. Although the K20 pro also comes at an aggressive price, Rs 28000 is a lot of money which doesn’t allow us to categorize it as a budget device.
