Plastic usage is one of the biggest causes of pollution all over the world. Plastic does not decompose. It leaves a lot of harmful gases if burnt and pollutes the seas where it is got rid of by many people. Seeing the bad effects of plastic on our climate and earth, Delhites have started a War against Plastic usage. In this article, we will tell you everything you need to know about the war. A war against Plastic usage
This war is not something which is started by the government or some political party. The NBT(Navbharat Times) began the “I am Plastic Free” campaign and as per that many people shared how they are removing plastic from their lives. Here are some of the ways people believe Plastic usage can decrease:
(1)Using Cloth Bags instead of Plastic Bags
There is a much better and eco-efficient way of purchasing vegetables. Everyone should get a Jute or Cloth Bag and take it every time they go to buy vegetables and other necessities. The seller could also purchase these bags at cheap rates and give them to customers at a price of Rs5. The seller should tell them to bring this bag every time they purchase vegetables. If people do not want to give Rs 5, the seller should ask them to take the bag and bring it back tomorrow.
(2) Using Glass and copper utensils instead of Plastic
Using glass and Copper Utensils is another way of reducing Plastic usage within homes. Instead of using plastic bottles, people should use Glass or Copper ones as a replacement. Many people will say that these bottles are expensive but to kickstart any change one has to begin from their homes.
(3) Awareness amongst everyone
Not everyone is as educated as you might be. Thus people do not know what harmful effects the use of Plastic is doing to our world. The fully aware citizens, especially college going students should run campaigns where they can tell people about the importance of plastic.
