Some unknown facts about the kanvar yatra are followed by every kanvar yatri. Kanvar Yatra stems from Kanvar, the myth about its name says that kanvar Yatra is named after the kanvar, or a single pole (usually made of bamboo) with two roughly equal loads fastened or dangling from opposite ends. The kanvar is carried by balancing the middle of the pole on one or both shoulders.

Prohibition of drugs, alcohol, non-vegetarian during the kanvar yatra

There is a restriction on drugs, alcohol, & non-vegetarian is allowed during the yatra.  Even though lord Shiva is often associated with recreational usage of bhaang and dhatura.  A kanvar cannot be under any influence or eat non-vegetarian. There should not be any vulgar song during the Kanvar yatra.

 Staying away from worldly pleasures

Kanvar yatri cannot touch his Kanvar, without taking a bath. There is a prohibition to use combs, oil, soap or anything related to styling during kanvar. Kanvar yatri wear Lord Shiva’s printed dress during kanvar yatra. During the entire yatra, the yatri are supposed to stay away from all kinds of worldly amenities that include comb, soap and even oil. it is necessary that Kanvar yatri cannot touch the kanvar without cleansing himself with a proper bath.
