In the movie Aquaman, as its name suggests, Arthur is the main character who can breathe underwater the same way he can do that on land. He is a man here who is determined to bring justice to people underwater and on land. As the story proceeds, he is being called upon the princess of another kingdom under water because none other than him got the strength and courage to save people under and above water. This is the point in the film around which the whole story of the movie Aquaman is based. Questions like ‘does he win?’, ‘why he has enemies?’, ‘why there is fight underwater?’ etc. are answered once he goes for this epic battle.

The movie clearly signals that it is trying to prevent the end of the world and doomsday but even after that, it is not a cliche. In between, there are fun scenes so that the audience are entertained with humorous moments as well. Amber Heard here plays the princess (which we just mentioned) and she and Arthur have given the watchers many moments which are along with the preparation of epic battle but are not extremely serious.
That is a good thing because it made the movie not to be labeled as just a ‘good vs bad’ saga. There is the scene in the movie Aquaman where Arthur and Mera travel to Sahara and there the background music is TOTOS Africa. This is a disappointment because we expect more from a film like this when a scene displays a place like SAHARA. This is one of the ’embarrassing moments’ in the flick which was really not at all expected.
The soundtrack in the movie Aquaman is not up to the mark, to be honest, but yes, director James Wan’s imagination and visuals are worth the watch. The underwater creatures and the battle scenes have kept the audience glued to their seats. But there is a flaw in the flick and that is actually due to the visuals. The director has kept so much attention for the visuals to be great that this has lead the movie to drag a lot. Another imperfection is that there are multiple subplots that happen in the film. Honestly, they were not needed and all of them have brought the film down.
Jason Momoa has Arthur has saved the film. The first reason is that now he is out of his ‘badass’ image and second because he is not flexing his biceps on-screen to show how strong a man he is and what a great physique he has! The movie Aquaman is not unnecessarily comic or unnecessarily dark, it is a right direction in the realm of DC movies. If it had been shorter, the audience would have enjoyed it a lot more!
