The big bang theory series is exactly the kind of comedy we deserve

The Big Bang Theory series is one of the most watched American sitcoms and two words that have been use to describe it are “inexplicably popular”. The series falling under the genre of comedy follows the lives of four socially awkward geek scientists and their later on in the series their better halves as well.

The Big Bang Theory series is famous or notorious (no one can really say) for exploring or exploiting (again no one can say) the geek culture. The series originally started out with the same theme but with a different set of characters as we can see in an unaired pilot episode but thankfully the creators were not happy with the result and created the existing twelve season version of The Big Bang Theory and along with it created a huge and dedicated fan base that was obsessed with “nerds”.

The Big Bang Theory series is nothing short of brilliant fall intelligent comedy made for people all kinds, nerds or not. If you are socially awkward there then you can relate to a majority of the leading characters who endear to you and you fall in love with them as they struggle with something that you have been struggling with.

If you thrive on social occasions then you always have Penny whose last name is unknown and is the queen bee. Similarly, if you are successful in your career or struggling, a successful working woman or a struggling actress, a parent to two children or delaying pregnancy for as long as possible, heartbroken or in love, Big Bang Theory is there for every one of you.

It is true that The Big Bang Theory series has been criticized for its not really biologically ageing its character, promoting a particular kind of “attractive” and for dragging on for too long but when you are down in the dumps or simply have nothing to do, it is the best thing to watch and rewatch. It takes you down a nice little journey right from the title track that claims “it all started with the big bang” to the end and making you feel just a little bit happier.
