Have one application for one purpose – Having fewer applications in the first place would definitely speed up your computer, If you have Google Chrome, Firefox and Opera? We would suggest you keep Google Chrome and get rid of the other two as they don’t have any purpose to serve. Consider your PC to be a company, who keeps dead weight anyway?

Make Updates Automatic – It takes absolutely no effort in clicking “Remind me later” for an update but, think of it this way, if you have a surgery due, does living with the problem for eternity sound like a good idea? Hence, to speed up your computer make the updates automatic. In My Computer > Properties > Automatic Updates, Make sure it is set to Download and Install Automatically. This way you wouldn’t even have to schedule your surgery, it’ll happen whenever you are on a wifi connection doing nothing.
 

Clear Temp Files – There aren’t enough words in the world that can emphasize on the importance of how necessary this is to speed up your computer. Go to Run, type %temp%, Delete all files. It is absolutely safe to delete these files, they are simply cached files which serve to be a primary reason for slowing down your computer.
