The New Zealand Vs India 1st T-20 was a match that fans would like to forget as soon as possible. The team looked like they really missed Virat Kohli because he is a master in such run-chases. The Kiwis made a huge total in which their new batsmen had a huge role to play.
New Zealand were to bat first and their openers gave to them a start very well needed. Seifert went on to score 84 runs out of just 43 deliveries while Munro scored 34 off 20. Kane Williamson played a handy innings of 34 off 22 while Taylor scored 23 off 14 deliveries.
There was not a single bowler whom the Kiwi batsmen did not attack. While every bowler got 1 wicket Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets. India were to chase a total of 220 runs in 20 overs.
The openers Rohit and Dhawan failed to give a good start. While Rohit scored 1 run, Dhawan went on to score 29 off 18 deliveries but that wasn’t enough to win the match. Vijay Shankar scored 27 while Dhoni scored 39 off 31. No other batsmen successfully scored much run. India were bowled out at just 139 runs with 4 deliveries remaining. It was a really pathetic attempt at a runchase.
New Zealand bowlers bowled really well. Southee took 3 wickets conceding just 17 runs in his 4 overs. Fergusen, Santner and Ish Sodhi took 2 wickets each while Daryl Mitchell took 1 wicket.
New Zealand are now 1-0 in the 3 match T-20 series. If they continue to play like this they could beat India in all 3 matches. As per India they are really failing to prove that they are something without Kohli. It appears as if Kohli is the only one who can win the big matches.
If India wants to win the T-20 series, the openers need to provide a good start while the bowlers have to try to conceal less runs. What are your views about India’s really big loss against New Zealand in the 1st T-20. Comment down below.
