Netflix’s Sex Education is the best Teen Comedy you will see!

Netflix’s new series Sex Eduxation is a coming of age heartfelt, teen comedy series comprising of 8 episodes, each an hour long. The series was launched mid-January and since then it has been viewed by over 40 million netflix subscribers and add to that lost people who view the pirated pirated version of it. A total 70-80 million views in less than a month.

Sex Education follows “a socially awkward high school virgin who lives with his sex therapist mother. He teams up with ‘whip-smart bad-girl’ Maeve to set up a clinic to deal with their fellow students’ weird and wonderful problems.”

Maeve starts dating a jock named Jackson and Otis realises that he has developed feelings for Maeve. Maeve is unaware of the fact and continues to see Jackson. It certainly is a heartfelt comedy series. In each episode both of their schoolmates come asking Otis for sexual advice which helps Maeve and Otis to earn some money. The story also follows Otis’s friend Eric who is gay and just wants to be accepted as he is.

This is also his story of how he successfully accepts what he is and doesn’t act like somebody else. A nice dialogue of eric is ” I am gonna get hurt any way, so let it be my way” or something like that. The dialogue is somewhat a metaphor to today’s generations who just wants to get accepted as they are.

Aimee, one of the most popular girls in the school is with a gang who don’t care about her but just care about their social status. It’s really fun to see her transformation too. The first 7 episodes seem like a development of a story and the last episode is a happy ending for everyone except for Otis and Maeve.

But don’t be dis-heartened. Sex Education has been renewed for a new season and will be coming back with the same director and the cast. The performances of all the actors is beyond comparison. It is really wonderful to watch and it also seems realistic compared to how everyone says, the Jock always gets what he wants!!
