The Cricket World Cup 2019 officially begins from today and will go on for the next two months till 14th of July. The first match is between England and South Africa and will start at 3:00 P.M. sharp as per Indian timings. Do you know what the ultimate winner of the World Cup 2019 will get? This time ICC has upped the ante by upgrading the prize money of the winning team. Surely, cricket has been getting much more popular and thus the increase in prize money. The ICC will reward the winning team with $4 million (Rs 27.86 crores) and an all gold shining World Cup Trophy which matters a lot more than the prize money. The runner up would be getting $2 million ( Rs 13.93 crores) while the second runners up will be getting $8,00,000 dollars (Rs 5.57 crores). The winners of each league stage match will be getting $40,000 (Rs 27.86 lakh) per match and a total of $1,800,000 ( Rs 12.54 crores) and the teams which do not cross the league stage matches will be paid $1,00,000 (Rs 69.97 crores) and a total of $6,00,000 (Rs 4.18 crores) in total.
A total of $10 million will be spent by ICC on Man of the match events and other prizes. The winner of the 2015 Cricket World Cup Australia won $3.9 million as prize money. A total of $1,00,000 have been increased in the prize money.
The tournament final would be played between the winners of the first and second semi-finalists on the 14th of July, 2019 at the Lords Stadium. It will be then that the winning team would be provided with the Cricket World Cup 2019 prize money and the ICC World Cup trophy to go with it. May the best team win.
