Millennium Development Goal basically deals with eight international goals. It addresses the basic human right, the right of each person on the planet. Its major concern is all about extreme hunger, poverty and achieving a universal primary education. Promoting gender equality and reducing child mortality with proper health care. Ensuring environmental sustainability and developing a global partnership for development.

The idea new Millennium Development Goal came when world leaders gathered at the UN to shape a broad vision to fight poverty. Following the millennium summit of the 2000 and adaptation of new millennium declaration.

MDGs FUND AND INDIAN CONTEXT
The fund was established in 2007, through a landmark agreement signed between the government of Spain and the UN system. With a total contribution of approx $US 900 Million. The MDG fund financed 130 joint programs in 8 programmatic areas in 50 countries around the world. In India, considerable progress has made in the field of education, gender and economic growth. There is slow progress in the improvement of health indicators related to mortality, morbidity and environmental issue. Millennium Development Goal fund also led a social justice initiatives to put the issue of social exclusion.

2015 is a milestone year. We will complete the MDG forging a bold vision for sustainable development. We are aiming for a new universal climate agreement.
