There is no doubt that the movie ‘Sanju’ has won hearts all over the country. People in the country have expressed great appreciation for Ranbir Kapoor’s acting chops. The way he portrayed the role did not have even the shortest room for complaints. Moreover, the costume and make-up department of the Sanju team has also garnered praise. Their exceptional job of transforming Ranvir Kapoor into the perfect Sanjay Dutt just cannot be denied.

However, there is a section of the audience who are not very pleased with the movie. They have blatantly criticized the movie and have said that the director has ‘white-washed’the actor’s image. Some people even went on to say that the movie was only made to glorify Sanjay Dutt and this is just not the justice to the biopic. Well, there are a thousand questions that are raised on the director and it happened recently as well.

At a press conference of some major media event, Rajkumar Hirani was asked the same question. To this, he with the support of Abhijat Joshi (writer of Sanju) replied that he has not in any way glorified ‘Sanjay Dutt’. He showed the facts in the movie were Sanju was addicted to drugs, keeping the gun at his house. sleeping with his friend’s girlfriend etc bears testimony to the fact that the director has shown all the qualities which were a reality. He even said that he could not understand from where this ‘whitewashing’ thing is actually stemming. Agreeing to the fact that he questioned media sensibilities in the film, he said that sometimes media has t be sensitive but unfortunately it does not happen. He also added that this happens even today. Is it not a fitting reply for people who are continuously making ‘hue and cry’ about the film?
The film also had Manisha Koirala, Paresh Raval, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza, Jim Sarbh apart from Ranbir Kapoor.
