In a world where everything turns into a rat race, it is hard to separate pressure and stress with what you call as competitiveness and the urge to do best. There is no permanent definition of stress but it varies from person to person and feeling to feeling.
Everyone today, is so consumed in ambitions, success, and money that there is hardly any time to sit down and enjoy the moment or reflect upon what has been done and how much you have achieved.
There is so much competition today, so much to do, a lot to think and worry about, no doubt in that, because with the increase in technology, population, and the saturation in conventional fields of life, like jobs has been hard hitting on everyone.
You would think that stress is something too far fetched a concept and that you are nowhere near the category of people who are stressed out, but alas, be it a kid or an old person, some traces of stress can be found in everybody. People today are anxious, impatient and seek answers then and there, which makes them think too much, that in turn makes them worried or paranoid about things and this vicious cycle goes on and on.
You would stress about the simplest of things and not even realise the minimal to high intensity effects it would have on your mind and body. Electricity cut? Stressing about how you would stay without the fan or the ac or if the food in your refrigerator would spoil. On simplest of things like these to major issues like health, relationships, money etc, you stress without realisation and then for that moment, everything else goes for a toss, you much rather enjoy thinking about that problem than doing everything else at hand and distracting yourself from it. But then, today, excessive thinking and stressing over things has become second nature to humans and its not your fault, almost everyone does it.
According to the American Institute of Stress 77% people face physical symptoms caused by stress, which is a lot, which would mean that a lot of you are stressed out about a lot of things. Fret not; there are certain verified, legitimate ways in which you can beat stress:
- Positive attitude
- Healthy diet
- Meditation
- Practicing what you enjoy the most
- Taking 10 minutes out of the whole day to just be at peace and reflect on the whole day
Ultimately, how you deal with stress and issues is your own way of working but it is important in life to just unwind and sometimes let things be and let the nature take its course.
