Making clothes was something that he never planned and designer Kallol Dutta has a background in Macro economics. After he was graduated from Central Saint Martins, he resided in Kolkata. This was the city that bestowed him the sense of anonymity and gave him a chance to do things which were completely away from his industry of economics. Fashion was always used as an escape in Kallol’s life but destiny and his interest have taken him to it by all means today!

There was a time in the early 2000s when his designed clothing had jail stripes pattern. It was not only a style which was not a part of regular fashion but it brought a concentration on a subject that the world needed to pay attention to. This collection was dedicated to concentration camps in Russia. Moreover, that spring summer collection by Kallol Dutta in 2000s did not only look like a barcode but it was actually a barcode. Scanning it leads ton 1955- and this was the name of the designer’s label. The early 2000s were always important for designer Kallol Dutta as this was the time he was totally immersed in cutting-edge textiles and got something different in the fashion world which soon picked up popularity.

Fashion designer Kallol Dutta openly says that he has a zero understanding about metals. It was after working with a close friend, Eina Ahluwalia, who is a renowned jewelry artist, that Kallol got a hang on how things work when it comes to metals and designing of accessories. Both of them are now collaborating together to make a full-fledged jewelry collection.
