According to data from Quartz India, people at ISRO perform various roles and can expect to be paid somewhere between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6.12 lakh per annum on an average. Someone working as a civil engineer at ISRO will have a package of Rs 2.20 lakh upto Rs 6.12 lakh per annum.
Similarly, a technical assistant can earn between Rs 2.36 lakh and Rs 6 lakh. Next comes the ISRO scientists and engineers. Their average pay-scale can be said to be decent in comparison to salaries of other such professionals. An average scientist at ISRO earns Rs 81,195 per month. However, in September, ISRO reduced the salaries of its employees by Rs 10,000. There were mass protests by scientists on such a decision.
If you are a graduate from an elite university like IIT, you might enjoy packages between 9 lakh to 12 lakh per annum. As per data by Freshers Live, there are about 94 vacancies in ISRO. Amongst these, 3 are for the role of project trainees, 1 for a Research Associate, and 90 for B level technicians.
