Delhi Daredevils have never ever won the IPL but Delhi Capitals might just win it. Last night Delhi Capitals defeat Mumbai Indians to win their first match as a renewed team. In this blog we are going to discuss what all happened in the match and what heroic performances were given. First lets take a look at both squads.

Delhi Capitals batted first and they didn’t get off to a good start. Shikhar played a steady but slow innings. They were 2 down for 25 runs. They scored 80 runs in the first 10 overs.
It was then that Rishabh Pant came down to the crease and scored an ubeaten 78 off 27 deliveries. Colin Ingram scored 48 while tewatia gave a quick hand to Rishab too.
Overall, Delhi scored 213 runs for a loss of 6 wickets.
Mumbai came down to bat but their openers didn’t provide the start required. Rohit scored just 14 while Quinton De Cock scored 27. Surya Kumar Yadav got out at just 2 runs as he was run out by Shreyas Iyer. Except for Krunal Pandya’s 32 off 15 and Yuraj Singh’s 53 off 35 none other batsmen scored runs. Mumbai was restricted down at 176 runs.
All Delhi bowlers got wickets in which Ishant and Rabada got 2 each while Trent Boult, Rahul Tewatia, Kimo Paul and Axar Patel got 1 wicket each.
This year’s Delhi’s team looks much more stronger than that seen in the last few years. Even though their main batsmen namely Shaw and Iyer under-performed they were able to steal the victory very comfortably from the hands of Mumbai Indians.
