Redmi has launched the Redmi 7A budget smartphone in China. It is the successor to one of the most sold smartphone series in India. The Redi 5A, 6A have both been really good and the 7A too packs in some wonderful features. In this article, we will tell you all there is to know about the Redmi 7A.
Specifications of Redmi 7A
The Redmi 7Afeatures a 5.45 inch HD+ IPS LCD display. It has very thick bezels, a plastic back and comes with a resolution of 720 X 1440 pixels. The device runs on Android 9 Pie and is powered by the Snapdragon 439 processor launched in 2018. It is an octa-core processor built at 12nm. The device comes in two ram variants: 2 Gb + 16 Gb and 3 Gb + 32 Gb. Like its predecessors, it too lacks the fingerprint sensor and has a face unlock sensor which is not too fast. Redmi 7A has a 4000 Mah battery which comes with a 10W charger.
In the camera department, it has a single rear AI camera of 12 M.P. and a front facing camera of 5 M.P. The camera has many different modes like portrait, bokeh shot, etc. It has a dedicated memory card slot.
Price
As per its price in China, the 2 Gb variant will cost Rs 5,999 while the 3 Gb variant will cost approximately Rs 7,499. Considering the specifications, it is fairly priced.
Availability in India
Xiaomi’s Redmi 7A will arrive in India along with the K20 and K20 pro in July.
Opinion
Except for the low-resolution front-facing camera, the device is a decent upgrade to Redmi 6A. Purchase it only if you want a device with 2 Gb Ram because the Asus Max Pro M1 powered by Snapdragon 636 now comes at a price of Rs 7,999. Thus, if you want a 3 Gb Ram device, the Max Pro M1 is the best choice to go for. If you can add another Rs 1000 to your budget, then the Realme 3 is the best budget device at that price. Coming back to the Redmi 7A, the device is a decent upgrade but has nothing much new to differentiate it from its predecessor except for the oct-core snapdragon chipset.
