The India Vs New Zealand 2nd T20 was a really great one for the Indians. They played like they did in ODI’s. It was a combinatory effort of both batsmen and of bowlers.
India Vs New Zealand 2nd T20
From the New Zealand batting lineup, the whole upper order failed and it was on the hands of Colin de Grandhomme and Ross Taylor to lead New Zealand to a respective total. Ross Taylor scored 42 runs while De Grandhomme scored 50 off just 28 deliveries. It was because of them that New Zealand reached a total of 158 runs at a loss of 8 wickets.
From the Indian bowling side it was Krunal Pandya who took 3 wickets, Khalil Ahmed who took 2 wickets and Bhuvneshwar and Hardil each got 1 wicket. India came down to bat and the openers gave them a start that was really necessary. Rohit scored 50 runs off 28 balls while Dhawan scored 30 off 31 deliveries. Vijay Shankar scored 14 runs and the wicketkeeping duos finished the innings and won the match for India. Dhoni scored 20 runs while Pant scored 40 off 28 balls.
New Zealand bowlers tried really hard to restrict India but eventually failed. Only Ish Sodhi, Mitchell and Fergusen were able to grab a wicket each. Except for that none of the bowlers took wickets. India batsmen this time were more dominant on the bowlers and didn’t let them settle in like they did in the 1st T20 Match.
This was what happened in the 2nd T20 match between India and New Zealand. The series has now tied 1-1 and it will be the 3rd T20 that will tell who will win the series and who will lose it. With the absence of Kohli will New Zealand be able to grab the opportunity and beat India or will India prove their worth without Kohli! All will be answered in the 3rd and final T20.
