Since India’s close encounter loss against New Zealand in the World Cup, Ravi Shastri has been under criticism for doing nothing as the Head Coach. There was some news that he will soon be replaced by someone else as India’s Head Coach. However, it seems like the Kapil Dev led Cricket Advisory Committee has some different news for everyone.
The committee has decided to retain Ravi Shastri as India’s Head Coach till the year 2021. Post the World Cup, Ravi Shastri and his staff were given an extension of 45 days till the end of West Indies Tour.
The CAC has shortlisted a total of six candidates for the top job and interviewed each one of those including Ravi Shastri who is currently in West Indies.
The interview was held out on Friday and Kapil Dev and team told the media their decision post that.
Who all were part of the interview?
There were a total of six candidates present. There were some special names present there too like Moody and Hesson. Kapil Dev reveals in the press conference that Moody came third in that interview while Hesson was the runners up.
Kapil Dev and team were really impressed with Ravi Shastri’s presentation. Interestingly he was the last one to appear. The CAC also cleared that the past performances of Indian Team with Shastri present there also goes in his favor.
Ravi Shastri has been with the Indian Cricket Team as it Head coach since 2017. He was the team manager between 2015 and 2017 and was later given the role of head coach post the incident between Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble.
Well, so it seems like Team India will have the same Head Coach for another two years. Are you happy with CAC’s decision? Comment down below.
