A special force para commando. played with great conviction by Vicky Kaushal, takes a desk job for some time to be closer to his ailing mother. This situation makes him conflicted and soon when he gets news about the threat to the country, he goes back on the battlefield reminding himself that is the place where he belongs to. This decision of going back to the battalion ground is also triggered by the revenge when he loses his family member in a terrorist strike.

This is a Bollywood war film and I am ecstatic to say in this movie review of Uri: The Surgical Strike that the flick is not a cliche of old patriotic movies where people stand and indirectly put down the enemy country. The film displayed the retaliatory to the Uri attacks at the terror launch pads in Pakistan with all the moments creating genuine emotions of pride and urgency. Applauds to Vicky Kaushal’s performance and his looks where he is appearing every bit the army man. He also succeeded to crunch bones with his bare hands and these scenes evoked substantial emotions.

The women in the film, Kirti Kulhari as the skilled pilot and Yami Gautam as an intelligence officer are in good form, but they are just like a token of thanks. Mohit Raina is another actor who deserves lots of praise. He also played the role of paramilitary commando and gets moments to shine in the film. This movie review of Uri: The Surgical Strike will make you happy because here we will reveal the secret that this flick does not have the cliche involving chest-thumping jingoism which is favourite of Bollywood movies. Instead, the movie has put the ‘herogiri’ dialogues which are the material for clap and cheer.

The movie picked up the speed when it began to show the process involving the surgical strikes. These scenes involved the recruitment of a techy nerd, the plot, interrogations, and waterboarding. The film is long and this is one of the shortcomings. Despite this, there is a lot to admire. Do watch!
