Holi is a really famous festival in India. During the 2 days of Holi people put colors on the faces of their friends, family and relatives. You might remember playing Holi using Colors, throwing balloons and Pichkaris. In this article we are going to tell you the innovative ways by which Holi is played in these places.
(1) Barsane’s Lathmar Holi
This Holi is really famous throughout the whole world! This Holi is played by using a Lathi or a bamboo stick. Barsane is located near Mathura and this is a really innovative way of playing Holi.
Cebrations for Holi starts a week before the actual festival. 2 days before the main festival people also play Laddoo Holi where they throw sweets at each other.
(2) Mathura-Vrindavan Flower Holi
This Holi’s celebration starts 1 week before too. To play the Flower Holi people come from outside of India. The celebration begins from the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan.
(3) Shanti Niketan, West Bengal
In West Bengal Holi is celebrated as Basant festival. It was created by famous poetist and Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore. Ut is celebrated from Vishwa Bharti University.
The students organisze many events for thw featival. During these people spread Colors onto people’s faces. The festival of Holi has a really great importance for the state of West Bengal.
(4) Royal Holi, Udaipur
On the eve of Holi in Udaipur Royal Holi is celebrated. On this day people light a fire and celebrate the festival royally. During this from Cuty Palace to Manik Chowk, a Royal Party arrives.
In it horses, elephants and Royal Bands are made a really integral part.
(5) Anandpur Sahib, Punjab
If you want to celebrate Punjabi style Holi, you should consider going to Anandpur Sahib. From the year 1701, the festival has been celebrated there. People celebrate it by Martial Arts, fighting and showing talents through Sword.
