The Amazon Prime Day Sale between 15-16th July turned out to be a nightmare for Amazon. Due to some Amazon Prime Sale Glitch, many users were able to order a lens which cost more than $13,000 for just $94. Such users took to social media and gave a good round of applause to Jeff Bezos. To inform, the glitch didn’t happen in India. It happened in Amazon US.
To start with, some bargain hunter spotted the Sony deal on Amazon US and shared it on a deal aggregator Slickdeals. Shortly after the deal was posted, there were tons of users who took advantage of the glitch.
The name of the lens was Sony Alpha A6000 which is a 16mm lens. In India, the camera is listed at Rs 34,990 on Amazon. Now here comes the interesting part. Those people who bought the cameras took to the internet and posted some really interesting comments. Here are some of them.
“WOW, they actually delivered the lenses! I ordered 5 of the “Canon EF800mm f/5.6L IS USM Super Telephoto Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras” lenses for just $500! That’s $65,000 worth of lenses! Can’t believe Amazon actually delivered. Now the question is what’s the best route to get this sold? Should I head straight to Adorama and see if they will purchase them?”
This certainly proves that people did get the order. Amazon must have lost over $5,00,000 due to this glitch. However, there were some unlucky customers too. Here’s what they said:
“In for one, more like in for the cancellation. Wanted this one for a Long time. It’d be crazy if they honor the deal but probably not”, wrote the disappointed user.
Let’s just hope such Amazon Prime Sale Glitch happens in India and we get lucky enough to order products before they detect the glitch.
