Leading messaging App, Whats App owned by Facebook recently stated that it will take anyone to a court or sue the person who uses its services in a wrong manner. The news comes after lots of fake messages were seen taking round all over Whats App during Lok Sabha elections. In this article, we will tell you all there is to know about the new policies of the App.
Whats App New Policies
Recently, Whats App has updated its policies and in it is clearly stated that upon unauthorized usage of Whats App, the company is allowed to sue the following person and place a case against them. Well, this policy will take place from 7 December onwards which is quite far right now.
The main problem because of which Whats App has taken such a decision is due to rows of fake messages which were sent using Clone App and a $14 Software tool during Lok Sabha elections.
The company has clearly put forward that its products are not intended for bulk or automated messaging and these are against its terms of service. In its updated policy it states:
“Whats App will take legal action against those engaged in or assisting others in the abuse that violates our terms of service, such as automated or bulk-messaging, or non-personal use, even if that determination is based on information solely available to us off our platform”
To eradicate the problem of bulk messaging, the app recently brought forward a new feature which doesn’t allow sharing of an item to more than 5 people.
It seems that this time the company is really serious to not let others ruin its place in India. After all, with over 200 million users, India is one of its main markets.
