Byte Dance, the parent company of TikTok have decided to launch their very own smartphone in the market. If you thought for once that Chinese Smartphone Brands like Oppo, Vivo, One Plus are enough then you are wrong. TikTok, the App which has a very popular fanbase all over the world and was earlier known as Musically will now be launching their own smartphone.
As reported by the Financial Times, two people familiar with the project have confirmed on social media that the company would be launching its very own smartphone. Not just smartphone, Byte Dance is also thinking of launching its own streaming platform like Amazon Prime, Netflix. They are also thinking about creating a new messaging app called flipchat.
All in all, we can say that TikTok, which recently got banned and unbanned in India is looking to increase its fan base as well as its revenues through these moves. One thing they should notice and keep in mind is that companies like Amazon and Snapchat also thought the same but many don’t even know about their project and it failed really badly.
As per a report by Bloomberg, the streaming services by Byte Dance would be first launched in emerging markets like India where almost everyone has at least seen or even created a TikTok video once
ByteDance in January also launched Duoshan, a video chatting app which closely mirrors Snapchat. TikTok, also known as Douyin in China, has become one of the fastest-growing apps among teen users over the past few years and now counts more than 500 million downloads.
