This was a testament of the changing taste of the Indian audience. The failure of this film drove home a very important message. The message is “a movie will not succeed only on the basis of stars, it needs a good story”.

The wedding of Priyanka Chopra to Nick Jonas was one of the major things that happened in Bollywood in 2018. The week long festivities followed by almost a month of receptions had the media hooked. Anyone who was judging the couple due to the age gap and was predicting their doom was put to shame. Let us get realistic. This is Bollywood we are talking about. This industry is known for it over the top “masala” movies. It was a pleasure, however, to watch the industry release one good movie after another. The best part was that all of them were commercial successes. It is rare that this happens but 2018 proved to be a good year. From Raazi with nepotisms favourite child (before Sara Ali Khan), Alia Bhatt to Badhaai Ho with relatively “unknown faces” and no star power. All of them were really good movies and it was a pleasure to watch them succeed.
