Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi Daredevils captain has achieved a unique milestone. Shreyas Iyer scored highest T20 score by an Indian batsmen to help Mumbai thrash Sikkim by 154 runs in their opening group C Clash of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Indore on Thursday.
He hit 147 runs off just 55 deliveries. He went on to hit 7 fours and 15 sixes which is not at all easy. In the process he beat Rishab Pant who had earlier got the record to his name by scoring 128 runs for Delhi Daredevils.
Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara, who played a vital role in India’s maiden Test triumph in Australia, struck a stroke-filled unbeaten 100 in 61 balls in another Group C match against Railways.
However, Pujara’s blazing knock could not help Saurashtra secure a victory as Railways chased down the 189-run target with five wickets in hand at the Holkar Stadium.
The 24 year old nearly clean bowled all the bowlers hitting 15 sixes in his innings. He helped his team to reach 258/4 at the end of 20 overs.
