It has been more than a year since Pubg Mobile arrived. In that time, the craze for the game has increased by two-fold. We can say that Pubg is now a household name. Even though it’s crazily popular there are several games which beat it in terms of revenue and download. These games are Candy Crush and Honor of Kings. It’s totally unfair to compare a game which was released just a year back to a game which is in India since 2013. In this article, we will tell you how these two games beat Pubg Mobile.
Market Research Data by Sensor Tower revealed that Pubg Mobile and Game for Peace combined to earn $141 million on IOS in the first half of 2019, falling behind likes of Candy Crush and Honor of Kings.
Despite, every young smartphone user giving the game Pubg a try, Pubg Mobile seems quite far away from topping the revenue charts for games.
In data shared for app downloads and revenues in H1 2019, Pubg Mobile has ranked only fifth in terms of revenue generated by apps on both Android and IOS. With millions of users spending hours on the game, one would expect the revenues to soar really high.
Although its overall revenue is very high, going close to 12 crore rupees every day, still it remains in the shadow of games like Candy Crush and Honor of Kings.
For reference, while Pubg Mobile has had a revenue of $200-300 million, Honor of Kings raked in a staggering $728 million. One reason could be that the majority of Pubg players play on a budget device and refrain from making in-app purchases.
Even though Pubg might be on the lower side of revenue, the figures are only going up day by day and if the craze maintains, one can only expect Pubg to beat Candy Crush and Honor of Kings by the H2 of 2019.
