P.V. Sindhu clench BWF title to end the year on a good scale!!

P.V. Sindhu has beaten the best in the world in the BWF tour finals with a score of 21-19 and 21-17. She beat Nozomi Okuhara to win the match. With that She became the first Indian to win the season-ending tournament that features only the top eight players of the year.

This is also Sindhu’s first final victory of the year, successfully ending her losing streak in the past 5 finals she played. She says that this might stop people from asking the question about a title victory.

While the match did not go the distance like that in commonwealth Glasgow games in 2017 but it certainly was a classic match with the longest rally being of 48 shots.

Her reaction after the win said it all. She slumped down on her knees and put her hands on her mouth. She was overjoyed, emotional and happy. She embraced with her rival and got a pat on the back from coach Gopichand.

Her victory was very well appreciated by people on Twitter who recorded their happiness via tweets. Harsha Bhogle, Gaurav Kapur and many others wished her congratulations for her fantastic victory.

“I feel really happy. I have no words because it is my first win this year after coming and losing in the finals, so it was memorable. The year has ended on a beautiful note,” said Sindhu, who won silvers at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and World Championships this year.

Talking about her title win she said ” The last to last year I lost in the semifinals and last year I finished runners up. This time I am the winner, so it is a beautiful tournament for me as I won all matches including the semifinals and the finals.”

Well, we all are really happy for her and hope that she wins more gold for our country.
