Neeraj Chopra Bags Gold in Javelin Throw

In the athletic meet at Sotteville France, Indian Athlete Neeraj Chopra clinched gold medal with a comfortable lead of 3.69 having thrown an 85.17 metres. Moldova’s Andrian Mardare threw a distance of 81.48 metres to bag silver. Neeraj’s performance was brilliant as he did not fail to deliver in any of his six attempts giving the best in the fifth attempt when he was able to throw the javelin for a whopping 85.17 metres. Also, he came very close to winning in his third when he was able to pull off a throw of 85.12 metres.

Previously, he had improved his own national record with a throw of 87.43 metres at the IAAF Diamond league and he won the Commonwealth Games Gold at Gold Coast in Javelin throw with a throw of 86.47 metres.f India

Neeraj defeated the 2012 Olympic medallist Keshorn Walcott who couldn’t even make it to the podium and had to settle for a 5th place his best being mere 78.26 metres. Now, all eyes would be on this immensely talented 20-year-old where the entire nation including Neeraj himself would aim for a Gold at the Asian games that would be held in  Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
