The first movie was made in a different period where it was not hard to create sensory overload. With this one, there is a serious attempt to recreate the same charm as the first flick but the long gap of more than a decade has not let that happened they way audience expected.
The Lamplighters’ singing dancing brigade is something which deserves applaud. Even after the shortcomings due to the time period, there are many places in the film where it deserves credits.

Her mannerisms are exactly what we expect from the character. Meryl Streep also has a song in the flick called ‘turning turtle’ which is a treat for both eyes and ears. The three kids hold the special charm in the movie. Their scenes together will definitely evoke genuine emotions. The movie is a little manipulative but it is a fair deal for you and your kids.
