Master of the Game is a book written by Sydney Sheldon. The book is of the era when there were no smartphones and people came to know each other over lunch and dinner. In this article, we will tell you why you should certainly give time to read Master of the Game. The following review contains big spoilers for the story.

Master of the Game has no main character. The story begins with James Mcgregor, a poor kid with a big dream of making it big. He travels to halfway around the world in search of diamonds. When he finally finds them, he gets cheated by a trickster. The first part of the book is how Jamie takes his revenge on Solomon Van Der Merwe.
The second part features Margaret and Jamie’s side of the story, their 2 kids Jamie Jr and Kate. This part is one of the slowest and will appear to be the cringiest to all the feminists due to Margaret’s nature. After Jamie gets paralyzed, Margaret’s courage to handle the big company is wonderful. David Blackwell helps her totally.
The third part is about Kate and David Blackwell. Kate grows up as a tomboy and becomes a stunning woman. She grows up liking David and wants to marry him. As she is a daughter of Jamie, she always gets what she wants.
Kate is the one character who might seem to be the villain as well as a hero too. She helps Banda, her father’s friend through tough times but does anything she think will benefit the company and herself.
Kate and David have a son named Anthony. The 4th part revolves around his story. His liking of art, he wants to become an artist and how his dreams are tattered by Kate Blackwell from her money. Corruption is one of the main portrayals of Master of the Game.
The last part, however, featuring story of Anthony’s daughters Eve and Alexandra, identical twins by birth. This part is the most wonderful. You will just be able to relate to the personalities of the two twins. Eve is a clever person who will do anything to get all the fortunes of the Blackwell family while Alexandra is an innocent woman who cares nothing about the Kruger Brent Ltd Company.
This part is where Kate has to find a suitable successor to run the company. Will she succeed in her quest? This question you should find yourself when you read the novel. This is a very different novel which binds generations of stories of a family whose lives change completely.
Well, if you want to know Sydney Sheldon is a suspense story writer but in no ways can we call this one as a total suspense novel except for the last part. Hope you liked this review.
