Techinsights, an Ottawa, Ontario based firm which rips open phones to analyse their contents and estimate the cost of their parts inside have said that the iPhone Xs Max’s highest coating variant with 256Gb storage costs just about 443$ in parts and assembly making.

Apple has released a trio of new phones this year: The iphone Xs, iphone Xs Max and the iphone Xr. The iphone Xs starts at 999$ and the “so called” budget smartphone iphone Xr starts at 749$.
In its cost analysis, Techinsights found out that the single most expensive part of the iphone Xs max-display costing 80.50$ as compared to the last year’s iphone X’s display which costed 77$ and had a screen of 5.8 inches. They say that the less increase in price even though the display size has increased is because they have removed certain 3D components off of their iphone Xs Max display to keep the display in the budget.
To recall the iphone Xs Max features a 6.5 inch super amoled display with a resolution of 1242 x 2268 pixels. It has a dual rear camera setup of 12+12 megapixel and a front facing camera of 7 megapixels. It has the latest apple A12 bionic chip which is a 7nm chip. It is the fastest chip in the whole world right now.
It has a battery of 3174 Mah which comes with fast charging ability, although the charger available is just a 5 watt charger. You would have to pay for the 29 Watt fast charger by yourself.
