India Vs West Indies 2nd test match had a better start for West Indies than it had been in the first test. In the first innings West Indies was able to score a total of 311 runs in which Roston Chas scored 106 and Jason Holder scored 52 runs.

From the Indian side it was Umesh Yadav who picked up 6 West Indies wickets and Kuldeep grabbed up 3 wickets. Ashwin was able to get 1. The newcomer Shardul Thakur due to injury was unable to bowl, thus losing his chance when selected.

In the Indian batting side it was again Prithvi Shaw who hit 70 runs to decapitate West Indies bowling. Other than K.L. Rahul, everyone gave him support. Kohli scored 45 runs, while Rahane scored 80. It was Rishab Pant who was the highests scorer from the Indian side. He scored a total of 92 runs, unable to complete his hundred.

India in their innings were able to score 367 runs grabbing a lead of 56 runs.

2nd Innings

When the West Indies came to bat, this time they could not do much of anything. Their highest run scorer was Ambris who scored 38 runs. West Indies got out pretty fast scoring just 127 runs giving India a target of a mere 72 runs.

From the Indian bowling unit it was again Umesh Yadav who picked up 4 wickets and sealed a 10 wicket hall for the first time in his career. Other than him,Jadeja picked up 3 wickets, Ashwin picked up 2 and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 1 wicket.

The Indian came to bat and without losing a wicket, won it. It was a pretty good match for the Indian side.

It is India’s 10th continuous series win in their homeland. It started in 2013 and is still continuing. In an interview after the match Ravi Shastri compared Prithvi Shaw with the likes of  Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar. It must be a pretty big feat for the young guy.
