India was to bat first and they did not get off to a good start. Even before they hit the 200 run mark, they were down by 7 wickets in which Kemar Roach had a very big hand. Big names like Kohli and Pujara were bowled even before they reached double-digit runs. It was Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari who helped India reach a respectable total. Rahane scored a total of 81 runs while Vihari scored 32. Jadeja who has been in a fine form with the bat hit 58 runs.
India got to a total of 297 in first innings. West Indies, in turn, scored 222 and got all out. Ishant Sharma took 5 wickets in quick successions to restrict West Indies at such a total.
In the 2nd innings, Ajinkya Rahane and Vihari again got a good score. Rahane scored 101 runs while Vihari got out at 93. Virat declared the innings at 343-7. West Indies needed 418 runs to win. However, they got to only 100 before being bowled out. This time it was pacers Bumrah and Ishant who took 5 and 3 wickets respectively. The rest 2 wickets were taken by Mohammad Shami.
India won by a comfortable 318 runs.
