India Vs Australia 3rd ODI happened today and again it was Australia who batted first. This time, although things somehow changed. Say it be Melbourne’s big cricket ground or the slow pitch. The match was a pretty intense one. India came out with 3 changes. Kedar Jadhav, Chahal and Vijay Shankar came in.
India Vs Australia 3rd ODI
Australia hit 230 runs and got out at 48.3 overs. Thus they were bowled out with 9 balls remaining. In the innings it was Handscomb who hit 58 runs while Marah hit 39 and Khawaja too hit 34 runs. Except for that Glenn Maxwell hit a quick 26 off 19 deliveries. Chahal took 6 wicketa in the match. It was an impressive achievement and that too when he was returning after quite a bit of time.

From the Indian side it was Virat Kohli who hit 46 runs and got out. Then it was Dhoni and Jadhav who took it upon themselves to end it all for good. They created a partnership of 121 runs to win the game. Sadly, there were no sixes this time but Dhoni was again seen in his aggressive form. He hit 87 runs while Jadhav hit 61 runs.
It is only the 2nd time Dhoni has hit 3 consecutive half centuries in 3 matches. Last, it happened in 2014 and now 5 years later on Australian pitch after the controversy that happened in the 1st ODI where people told Dhoni to retire as he took a lot of deliveries to hit his 58 runs.
It is the correct reply to those people. Dhoni was awarded the man of the series. Chahal was awarded the man of the match. Kohli and squad looked satisfied holding the trophy again. Australian players seemed a bit sad as after playing really well they couldn’t snatch the victory from India.
India are to now face New Zealand in the upcoming 5 ODI’s and 3 T-20’s starting 23rd January.
