Game of Thrones : Robb Stark’s wife was a Red Priestess?

Game of Thrones is a series known for killing its main characters anytime anywhere. This was what the audiences visualised when in the season 3 Robb Stark, his wife and his mother were all brutally killed in what was known as the Red Wedding.

Well, 4 season after that fans have come up with a new theory about Robb Stark’s wife. Wasn’t it weird that not much was revealed about her background. Even Robb Stark found it weird and once he even started getting suspicious of her character. Robb Stark met Talisa Stark durong his battle against the Lannisters. After getting married he and Talisa along with his mother were killed in a brutal scene. Now, as per a fan theory Talisa was a Red Priestess.

In the Game of Thrones world Red priestess are the people who follow and worship the Lord of the Light. They possess various abilities like resurrecting people from the dead. As per rules they do not get involved in taking vows of celibacy and do not get invloved in having sex. In Game of Thrones world there are only few such people. One red priestess is Melisandre, another is Red Priestess of Volantis and the third one was from Meereen.

As per a redditer, Robb Stark’s wife was a Red Priestess and came to marry him and convince him to become a king.

“I mostly think this because she was from Volantis, where the Red Temple is, and other Red Priests, like Thoros of Myr, have been given similar missions. Since both Robb and Talisa were both slain during the Red Wedding, I feel like even if this were true, it is now irrelevant,” the fan wrote.

However, this theory contradicts to one of Talisa’s dialogue from the show. As per the books, she was born in the Free City of Volantis and after witnessing the death of her young brother, she had said, “I decided two things that day. I would not waste my years planning dances and masquerades with the other noble ladies. And when I came of age I would never live in a slave city again.”

Well, the theory certainly was interesting and it was good to know that we might have some clue as to the mysterious character possessed by Talisa Stark. Only one person can answer to that and he is the writer of the books George RR Martin.
