Chinese brands Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor have sold more than Rs50,000 crore worth of smartphones in the fiscal year 2018. If we see this in terms of total smartphone sales, it would term out to be more than 1/2 of what is sold in the Indian market.
This amount is double of what was last year. Analysts and company executives have said that the sales of Chinese smartphones could only increase in Indian market from this point on. Two analysts have said that Chinese brands smartphones in comparison with brands of South Korea, Japan and Indian brands sell smartphones at a much lower cost and that is why the sales are gonna go up, not down.
As per the analysts, Xiaomi smartphones have taken control in the 6000-13000Rs smartphones and Vivo, Oppo have taken control in the 10000-20000Rs smartphones.
Due to the Make in India policy Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo have invested in India highly and created a lot of jobs which has had a positive impact on India too. Xiaomi, to manufacture components in April had said to invest 15000 Crores. Oppo is installing two new manufacturing facilities in Uttar Pradesh. Vivo have given more than 5000 people jobs in their facilities.
For FY18, the registrar of companies has given details that Xiaomi’s total revenues are Rs 22,947.28 crores which in the last year was just Re 8334.40 crores. Oppo mobile India’s revenues are Rs 11,994.3 crores which last year was Rs 8050 crores.

Well, this news certainly won’t be pleasing or the Indian smartphones manufacturers but what can we do. We Indians are really interested in just what brand gives us maximum discounts and nothing else.
