This movie works because the premise of the movie is strong and emotional. Batti Gul Meter Chalu Movie is a flick which is written in broad strokes of brushes. The area where this movie is set in is Uttrakhand, where mostly power cuts paint the town black at night.

The foe is a private company electricity company whose torture let a young entrepreneur of the town commit suicide. This role is played by Devyandu Sharma. Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor have played SK’s childhood friends. Their lives changes after this incident happened.

Shahid Kapoor is actually a lawyer but only develops serious consciousness and puts his profession into use once he loses his friends. He fights against the corrupt electricity company who is responsible for this mishap and also he;f of other folks in the village.

If we talk about Shraddha Kapoor role, then it is evident that she has done complete justice to her role. Playing an energetic young girl from a small town with dreams of reaching the Lakme fashion week, she manages not to fall into the ‘cliche pit’. Moreover, she impresses the viewers. The flaw with the movie is that it spends way too much time on the setup.

The movie reaches to its main point mainly in the courtroom scenes where Shahid Kapoor gets claptrap dialogues. As it is a Bollywood masala, there are sexist jokes that Shahid throws on defense lawyer that is portrayed by finesse by Yami Gautam.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu Movie highlights that there are still so many Indians who do not have access to electricity. The film is not on a subtle note, therefore people talk in loud voices and delivers dialogues.

Shahid and Shraddha both deliver will make you feel their characters truthfulness as they have played the character by heart. It is a film that gives its message with all the Bollywood masala and melodrama. Even after that, the film works. Should be watched!
