Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. This time though they were unable to get the type of start they got in the last match. Openers Short got out for 15 runs and captain Finch  got out on the first delivery he faced of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Except for Mcdermott who scored 32 runs no other batsmen was able to cross the 20 runs mark. At the end of 19 overs Australia were 132-7. That is when rain decided to come and protect Australia. Rain continued and after a certain amount of time, the match was called off.

At first India Vs Australia 2nd T-20 match, it was decided that india would be chasing a total of 133 in 19 overs but when the rain didn’t seem to stop the officials called the match off. India seemed unlucky to have the match called off. They could have easily won the match and try to win the series in the next match.
