If you know the true story and facts of Rani Laxmibai’s life, then you must be knowing that at one point she was ready to hand over Jhansi to the British empire. But as the movie has to show love for the country by her, all these facts are completely omitted here.

Also, showing everything in just two hours in the flick needed thorough and deep research, and the movie makers have done that with finesse. The song ‘Bharat’ will seriously bring the patriotic feeling in every nerve of the Indians. Such is the music. It’s very important to tell about the sets of the movie in this movie review of Manikarnika. It’s because, without the authentic surroundings, this movie could have been derailed. But production designers Sujeet Savant and Sriran Aiyangar did their job leaving no stoned unturned to design the beautiful sets.

Talking about the flaws in this movie review of Manikarnika here, the CJI has really done worse to the movie. In the last war scene, the viewers would notice the tacky background which will absolutely take the attention away from the impressive acting chops of Kangana Ranaut. This is the major downside of the flick. The scenes where she shuns the widowhood rituals and trains the women folklore in the sword fighting will evoke true emotions. Costume and jewelry are at its’s best. Other characters portrayed by Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Ankita Lokhande, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayub, Danny Denzongpa etc, unfortunately, have just catered to show the greatness of the queen and had nothing on-screen to do for their own roles. But even after all these problems, the film is worth a watch!
