The Kiwis stand 4th at the Points table with 11 points. If Pakistan wins today they will tie with them having the same 11 points. The major difference comes in the Net Run Rate. The Net Run Rate favors the Kiwis who have performed really well throughout all their Round-Robin Matches.

Pakistan who took a really bad beating at the hands of West Indies, in their first match has a really bad Net Run Rate of -0.792 while Kiwis has a NRR of +0.175. To qualify for World Cup semis, Pakistan has to beat their opponents with a huge margin.

If Pakistan doesn’t win the toss, they will be knocked out of the World Cup without even a ball being bowled in today’s match. If they win the toss and score 400 runs, then they have to bowl out Bangladesh at a score of less than 84. This seems really far-fetched and difficult considering a good form of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. This means that Pakistan has to win this match by 308 runs to qualify.
