Twitter users were really facing a lot of problems due to the unfair word count that was existing. What actually was happening that even when people were using single emoji, it was counted as four. This was creating a lot of problems as people were unable to explain themselves more elaboratively. This was also causing an unbalanced word count trouble to users. Now, instead of four, the emoji count will be counted as two characters. This will put a fair count on emojis and as Twitter characters will have the same count, people will have more space to express and explain themselves.

This is a welcoming change for emoji lovers/ Initially, people who used a lot of emoji in their writings were faced with a lot of obstructions as their word count used to be limited. But currently, as the social media platform has made headlines that Twitter characters will have the same count so, emojis are not going to take up more space.

This grand announcement was made by Twitter on its developer platform. Be it the gender tone emojis or any other. Twitter characters will have the same count no matter how many times it is being used. In addition to this, the characters which are out of Twitter Library or which are extending the Unicode of RGI will still be counted as more than two characters. This news was confirmed by Bryan Haggerty himself (Twitter design lead). Last year, this social media platform increased its character count from 140 to 280 which gave a relaxing breath to the users. However, the increased emoji count did not allow users to take full advantage of this service. But as Twitter has now decreased the word count of emojis, users will now be able to use these available 280 characters more efficiently.
